I’m excited to announce that The Fortune Society is now accepting applications for the Fortune Flyers’ 2016 TCS New York City Marathon team! We are looking for committed runners who are willing to lace up their shoes to run on November 6, 2016 to further our mission to support formerly incarcerated people’s successful reentry from prison and promote alternatives to incarceration.
The Fortune Society will provide you with guaranteed entry to the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon, a Fortune t-shirt, access to the Fortune Flyers’ running coaches, and a personal donation page where your loved ones can donate in your name and you can follow your progress.
These highly coveted slots are available to those who will commit to fundraise on behalf of The Fortune Society. The money you raise will help strengthen our comprehensive services for men and women with histories of criminal justice involvement, including preparation for release, education, housing, employment services, substance abuse treatment, and our Alternatives to Incarceration program. It will also help us continue our strong advocacy, research, and communications work to reform unjust criminal justice policies.
We ask that all team members pledge to raise a minimum of $3,250 by November 6, 2016. However, we will pay your registration fees.
