Hispanic Heritage Month begins September 15th to coincide with the independence days of five Central American countries: Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Costa Rica. The team at Fortune has compiled a list of events, books, movies, and TV shows and developed a Spotify playlist to help you celebrate.

Ballet Hispánico, the nation’s largest Latinx dance organization and one of America’s Cultural Treasures, will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a robust and engaging programming line-up anchored by the organization’s annual A La Calle Block Party, which returns in person.

Movies begin at dusk. This event is FREE and open to the public. Glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. In the event of heavy rain or extreme weather, the screening may be canceled.
Las Flores de mi País: Virtual Exhibit Tour and Discussion

In its first gallery exhibition,Las Flores de mi País, NYC Parks’ Latino Society aims to represent the diverse communities that make up this great city by exploring interpretations of Latinx culture using imagery of native flora from countries or territories of their choice. Botanicals are used as inspiration, symbols, a medium to create designs, a historical reference, and in textile design that reflects a culture or tradition.
